The military coup in Honduras of 28 June 2009 has been stripped of its democratic facade. The watchwords of the de facto regime that has emerged from the violence are: “God, Law and Order”
The regime has openly adopted the methods of Stroessner, the late dictator of Paraguay, on declaring a State of Emergency—in reality a State of Siege–that aims to suppress all resistance and silence all opposition. It has closed down Radio Globo and CHOLUSAT SUR, the two principal media houses that have continuously and valiantly provided news on the real situation in Honduras.
The legitimate president of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya Rosales, together with his family and associates, have been subjected to physical and psychological torture; and for all practical purposes deprived of their liberty in the embassy of Brazil, in violation of international treaties
International pressure has forced the de facto regime to dialogue with President Zelaya. But this is a solipsistic dialogue that is being prolonged cynically and interminably, with the aim of legitimising the forthcoming ‘elections’ being conducted under their ‘democracy’.
The country is divided between the coup forces and the anti-coup forces. The two sides have completely different and antagonistic philosophies, discourses, practices and methods
The golpista (coup) philosophy assumes that it is the owner of reality by right and by inheritance. That reality is fixed and immutable, established and sanctified by the god of the powerful and the theology of armed and violent oppressors. A reality in which the gilded world of the rich is in confrontation with the oppressive world of the poor and with those who have no right to justice and to love.
The golpistas’ conception of the world is based on an ahistorical, ontological, vision; one in which the social being has no place and the people do not exist. It is this frame of reference which justified the military coup that aborted the holding of a non-binding poll—the “Fourth Urn” in which the people were to be asked their opinion on the installation of a Constituent Assembly. The golpista ideology holds that the “Constitution is God.” Its advisors and practitioners are disciples of the Latin American School of the Americas and of the extreme right in the United States and Latin America
The epistemology underlying the vision of the golpistas is one that totally ignores the potential of the people as a subject capable of understanding and changing social reality. Knowledge and education are a function of the market and of capital accumulation. The regime’s assumptions of its own validity and political legitimacy go along with a kind of legal formalism in which the law is completely separate from social life. This method is not only perverse but false, for it flagrantly distorts the truth. It denies that a military coup took place, falsifies records and ignores the systematic violations of human rights and corruption.
The concrete method of the golpistas is to promote a “syndrome of attrition and of physical, mental and political exhaustion”. The strategy seeks to defeat the opposition by means of irregular warfare; media, religious and military terrorism; detentions, beatings and torture. It includes assassinations of leaders, teachers, artists, youth and women–femicide has increased by 60 percent. The economic cost of the military coup in the first three months has been over $800 million, implying a loss of nearly $30 million a day
But in the face of all this pain and suffering a giant has awoken; a new hope has been born. The people has rediscovered itself. Moved by its dreams of freedom, it acts in defiance of those who have hitherto sought to shut it out from the making of history.
The myths of media power have been shattered. The powerful, with their technology of manipulation, have failed to deceive the people. The walls of silence have collapsed. Charcoal burners, the colours of the earth, have served as tools for the working people and artists in the making of their own history: in writing, painting, dancing, acting, singing the poetry of freedom; confronting tanks, shrapnel, toxic gases and treacherous daggers with shouts of pain and anger: “! Golpistas! Golpistas! “
A people have been born, a new hope, in the form of the National Resistance Against the Military Coup. Its objectives are organized mobilization to struggle against injustice, to build political power through genuine participation of the citizenry in the National Constituent Assembly and to profoundly transform the Constitution of the Republic
Its principles are based on “Non-Violence”. It has sustained over one hundred days of heroic marches under the sun and the rain of bullets, beatings, stabbings and the terror of noxious gases. However, in a country under military occupation by the United States, where the cowardly armed forces and police spend huge amounts of money at the expense of hunger and disease of children and environmental destruction by multinational corporations; they will never extinguish the courage and the voices of nonviolence shouting in every corner of Honduras: Long Live the Resistance
The martyrdom and heroism of the Honduran Resistance is a call to all peoples of the world for no more military coups and no more military bases in Latin America. It is a call for human and world peace; for respect for the dignity of our peoples and for their history; for social and environmental justice in the heart of Mother Earth.
The path of hope and liberation, in the face of crimes against humanity, is through full consolidation of the Resistance as a nonviolent political, cultural and spiritual force that builds and leads the taking of power
No change that is genuinely democratic can occur if it excludes the Resistance Against the Military Coup as the largest and most significant political force in Honduras. It is the most indisputable historical fact of our present and of the future; a force with which the people dream and are constructing the dawn of a new day for our country

A raíz del golpe militar en Honduras, el 28 de junio 2009, ocurre la caída del antifaz de la falsa democracia: para el régimen de Facto desde que surgió por la violencia, las consignas son: Dios, Ley y Orden.
Es su manera explícita de imitar al dictador Stroessner de Paraguay, al declarar Estado de Excepción o en la práctica un verdadero Estado de sitio que reprime y amordaza a toda oposición. Cierran la voz de Radio Globo y CHOLUSAT SUR, los principales medios de comunicación que nos mostraban constantemente y con valentía la verdadera realidad en nuestro país.
El legítimo presidente de los hondureños, Manuel Zelaya Rosales, su familia y acompañantes han sido objeto de tortura física, psicológica y prácticamente privados de su libertad en la embajada de Brasil, vulnerando los tratados internacionales
Más, la presión mundial ha obligado al gobierno de Facto a dialogar con el Presidente Zelaya. Es un dialogo solipsista que se prolonga maliciosamente y en forma interminable para legitimar “las elecciones” de su democracia.
El país se ha divido en fuerzas golpistas y fuerzas anti golpistas. Son dos filosofías, dos discursos y dos prácticas y métodos totalmente diferentes y antagónicos
La filosofía golpista asume que la realidad le pertenece por herencia como si fuera inmutable, construida y bendecida por el dios de los poderosos y la teología de los opresores armados y violentos. Es el dorado mundo de los ricos frente al opresivo mundo de los pobres y los excluidos de la justicia y del amor.
Según la concepción de los golpistas (visión ontológica sin historia); existe una separación entre el ser social y la realidad. El pueblo no existe. Bajo esta idea, se justificó el golpe militar que suprimió la libertad de practicar una encuesta no vinculante: “la Cuarta Urna” donde se le preguntaba sobre la opinión de la instalación de una Asamblea Constituyente. La ideología golpista considera que la “Constitución es Dios”. Los asesores y operados del golpe militar son los discípulos de la Escuela de las Américas, la ultraderecha estadounidense y latinoamericana
En la visión golpista sobre la teoría del conocimiento (gnoseología) se desconoce la potencialidad del pueblo como sujeto capaz de conocer y transformar la realidad social. El conocimiento y la educación están en función del mercado y la acumulación del capital. La validez y la verdad política del régimen de facto (visión epistemológica) no resisten la formalidad de la ciencia jurídica al separar la vida de la ley. El método, además de perverso es falso, puesto que distorsiona de manera flagrante la verdad. Se niega el golpe militar, se falsifican actas y se hace caso omiso de las violaciones a los derechos humanos y de la corrupción.
La concreción metódica es “el síndrome del desgaste y agotamiento físico, mental y político”. La estrategia es derrotar a la oposición, mediante la guerra irregular, el terrorismo mediático, religioso y militar, detener, golpear y torturar. Asesinar a dirigentes, maestros, artistas, jóvenes y mujeres (el femicidio, se ha incrementado en un 60 por ciento). El costo económico del golpe militar durante los primeros tres meses ha sido de más de 800 millones de dólares lo cual implica una pérdida de casi 30 millones de dólares diarios
Pero frente a este cuadro de dolor y sufrimiento un gigante ha despertado, una nueva esperanza ha surgido. El pueblo se ha redescubierto a sí mismo desafiando con sus sueños de libertad a los que han hecho invisible su historia.
Se han roto los mitos del poder mediático. Los corifeos con su tecnología manipulativa no persuaden. Los muros del silencio se han derrumbado. El carbón de las hornillas, los colores de la tierra, han servido al pueblo trabajador y artista de su propia historia: escribir, pintar, danzar, actuar, cantar el poema de la libertad; frente a los tanques, las metrallas, los gases tóxicos y los puñales traidores hay gritar con dolor y coraje : “!Golpistas! ¡Golpistas!”.
Ha nacido un pueblo, una nueva esperanza, la Resistencia Nacional Contra el Golpe Militar. Sus objetivos son la movilización organizada para luchar contra la injusta realidad y construir el poder mediante la participación real de la ciudadanía en la Asamblea Nacional Constituyente y transformar profundamente la Constitución de la República.
Sus principios están basados en la “No violencia”. Son más de un centenar de días de marchas heroicas bajo el sol y la lluvia de balas, garrotazos, puñaladas y el terror de los gases mortales. Sin embargo, en un país militarme ocupado por los Estados Unidos, las fuerzas militares y policiales cobardes, gastan enormes presupuestos a expensas del hambre la enfermedad de los niños y niñas y la destrucción ambiental por parte de las multinacionales; nunca podrán apagar el coraje y las voces de la no violencia que gritan en todos los rincones de Honduras ¡Viva la Resistencia!
El martirio y heroísmo de la Resistencia, es un llamado a todos los pueblos del mundo para que no existan más golpes militares ni bases bélicas en América Latina. Nuestro pueblo clama por la paz humana y planetaria, por el respeto a la dignidad histórica de nuestros pueblos, la justicia social y climática en el corazón de la Madre Tierra.
El camino de esperanza y liberación, a pesar de los crímenes de lesa humanidad es la consolidación integral de la Resistencia como fuerza política, cultural y espiritual no violenta que construye y dirige la toma del poder.
Ningún cambio por la democracia real puede realizarse si se excluye a la Resistencia contra el Golpe Militar como la fuerza política más significativa y grande de Honduras. Es el hecho histórico más incontrastable de nuestra actualidad y del futuro con el que el pueblo sueña y construye el nuevo amanecer
